What is Sunbeam Jackie?
A UK-based design studio creating handmade, luxury parasols and art-products, crafted in Cornwall, UK.
What makes your parasols unique?
Each is one-of-a-kind, made from collectible and designer fabrics, sustainably sourced timber, and hand-built by skilled artisans.
What sizes are your parasols?
We offer three standard sizes: 2 metre, 2.5 metre and 3 metre in diameter.
If you need a custom size please contact us - we’re happy to discuss bespoke options.
Can I customise a parasol?
Yes. Choose fabrics, colours, trims, or sizes for private or commercial projects.
Are the parasols waterproof and UV-resistant?
Yes. All vintage fabric parasols are treated with a non-toxic waterproofing UV protecting agent. Our designer/technical fabrics are inherently waterproof and UV protective.
How long does a custom parasol take?
We typically work to a 6-10 week lead-time. However if you have a tight deadline, please get in touch as we will always do our best to meet your deadline!
Where are your products made?
All items are made in-house, in our 12th-century barn studio in Cornwall, using locally sourced materials.

Parasol Care and Technical FAQs
Stand requirements
- Parasol poles are 45mm in diameter
- If using your parasol through a hole in a sturdy table a 25kg stand will suffice.
- To use your parasol free-standing we recommend a heavy stand @ 50-60kg
- We do make stands to commission, please contact us for more information.
- We can also recommend trusted parasol base suppliers.
Table compatibility
All parasol poles are round, 45mm in diameter - check your table hole size.
Do your parasols tilt?
Our parasols use a traditional centre-pole frame structure, they do not angle or tilt.
Cleaning
- Small marks: wipe with a wet-wipe or warm water and a damp cloth.
- Full wash: hand-wash lukewarm, gently wring out, hang to dry.
Weatherproof cover
All parasols come with a waterproof, technical fabric cover.
Storage
- Keep down and upright with cover on.
- Never store damp; ensure canopy is completely dry, especially when storing away for the winter months.
